Some unexplained enigmas of human life…by Navtej Kohli

Do you believe in mysticism, something like your own spirit, or your own exact replica?

I know, this may sound atypical, but there are some people who claim to have met their own phantom – their doppelgangers.

Several accounts throughout the history confirm some remarkable cases of doppelgangers been observed globally. Also, instances are when people experienced being in two distinct locations at the same time.

Literally, doppelganger means double-walker or a look alike. It is a German word that means a shadow self. And if we are to believe the German folklore, it can be a harbinger of misfortune and death, visible exclusively to the owner other than family members in certain exceptional cases.

Of all the fascinating reports of doppelganger I found online, this one really knocked me off my feet!

Emilie Sagée (32 years, French) school teacher became a topic of rumor and speculation when students reported having seen her twin appear and disappear right in front of them.

In an episode, while Sagée was writing on blackboard, suddenly her duplicate appeared behind her. It (the duplicate) copied teacher’s every move as she was writing. Strangely enough, it held no chalk to write with. Almost 13 students in the class saw the entire happening.

Another similar event was reported at a dinner where Sagée’s phantom was seen standing besides her, imitating her movements as she ate, except that it did not hold any utensils.

Else than just mimicking her, doppelganger was also said to be seen alone sometimes. While she was teaching in a classroom, students alleged having seen her doppelganger in other parts of school. One day, a class of 42 students assembled in the hall for their tailoring lessons, under the supervision of a teacher. From the class they could distinctly see Sagée collecting flowers in the school’s garden. To their surprise, however, when the supervising teacher left the hall, Sagée’s doppelganger surfaced on her chair, whereas the real Sagée could still be seen gathering flowers in the garden. Two girls even dared to touch it, but felt a strange sort of resistance in its aura. It then gradually disappeared. This entire instance occurred in the full view of all the students.

Sagée on the other hand, claimed never to have seen the doppelganger herself, but said that whenever it was said to appear, she felt drained and fatigued. Her physical color even seemed to pale at those times.

I wish not to see my doppelganger ever in my life!!!
